A Look Back at 2024: Interior Design by Lovelace Studios

As we reflect on the transformative interior design projects of 2024, we’re thrilled to share a few of the standout spaces we’ve had the pleasure of creating. Each of these projects tells a unique story—whether it’s a personal journey into motherhood, a modern renovation, or a functional upgrade. Here’s a closer look at how we blended style, functionality, and individuality in our work this year.

Transforming a Traditional Home into a Personalized Haven

Relocating from Houston for a new job at St. Jude, this family wanted to update their early-2000s home to reflect their personal style. We focused on cosmetic updates like fresh paint, new countertops, and all-new tile, while maintaining the existing cabinetry.

The primary bathroom was the most dramatic transformation, with a closed-off shower replaced by a three-sided glass design, opening the space and allowing natural light in. In the kitchen, we updated countertops, painted cabinets, and reimagined the vent hood for a contemporary yet timeless feel. The girls’ bathroom now features fun, playful details like checkered and fish-scale tiles, while the powder bath offers a striking silk wallpaper ceiling and quartzite accents for a luxurious touch. We also transformed the entryway with bold wallpaper to set the tone for the rest of the home, and a custom stain was applied to the Australian cypress flooring, bringing warmth and sophistication to the space.

A Functional and Stylish Bathroom Transformation

This bathroom renovation was all about blending function with style to meet the family’s needs. We removed an unused linen closet to make room for a larger vanity with built-in laundry hamper pull-outs. The outdated tub-shower combo was replaced with a spacious, sleek shower, and we relocated the valves for easier use.

The space was opened up with glass panels and a knee wall, creating an airy, modern feel. Fun touches like a unique side splash detail and wallpaper above the vanity added personality, ensuring this bathroom is as stylish as it is functional.

A Timeless Yet Playful Nursery for Baby Girl

Designing this nursery was a particularly special project for me—it’s for my first child! The design began with a neutral color palette, knowing we could add more feminine touches later once we found out it was a girl. The focal point of the room is a vintage embroidered weeping willow piece I found early in my pregnancy, which set the tone for a room that’s both timeless and a little funky.

The room features a versatile dresser that doubles as a changing table, ensuring it can grow with her. I added the perfect finishing touch with a Sara Ella Cole artwork from Goetze Art and Design, which introduces vibrant color while remaining sophisticated enough for years to come.

A Timeless Blend of Classic Charm and Modern Innovation

Nestled in the charming High Point Terrace neighborhood of Memphis, this project blends classic charm with mid-century modern appeal. The kitchen centers around the new Aga induction range, which pairs beautifully with the walnut island and deep blue custom cabinetry. The space is as much about function as it is style, offering a hub for culinary creativity.

The primary bathroom features a bold, glass-enclosed shower that maximizes space and adds a modern touch. This design project is a testament to creating spaces that reflect our clients’ personalities while elevating their everyday experiences.

A Luxurious Retreat with Hotel-Inspired Elegance

This renovation of an early 2000s primary suite and kitchen transformed these spaces into a luxurious retreat, perfect for clients who travel frequently. In the primary bathroom, we reimagined the layout to double the size of the shower, creating an indulgent, spa-like atmosphere.

The kitchen was updated with an induction cooktop, relocated appliances for a more efficient work triangle, and two full-size fridge/freezers to meet the family’s hosting needs. Panel-ready appliances, including a dishwasher in the island and a fridge drawer in the coffee station, make this space as functional as it is stunning. The rich green cabinetry and warm wood accents pull the entire design together, offering an inviting, yet sophisticated feel.

Our year was filled with so many amazing projects — many we have yet to share with you, and we look forward to making more interior desiogn dreams come true in 2025. Be sure to follow us on Instagram for more design inspiration!
